The average class size is approximately 26 students per class. Generally, there are fewer students in Honors/AP classes. The student to teacher ratio is 18:1.
How much does it cost to attend Notre Dame?
Tuition is $784 per month based on 12 monthly payments June through May of the total annual tuition of $9,400, comprised of $8,900 domestic annual tuition and $500 enrollment fee.
How much does it cost to participate in athletics?
Notre Dame is a pay to play school and each student must pay a $250 athletic fee per season. Additional costs may be required from individual programs depending on program needs. Please see the Athletics tab for details.

Are Scholarships available?
Several memorial awards are available from private sources in honor of former students. Families may apply directly to the respective foundations or committees.
If I am not Catholic, can I attend Notre Dame?
Yes. All are welcome. Notre Dame High School’s mission as a Catholic school ministry in the Diocese of San Bernardino is to prepare students for college in the finest Catholic tradition, grounded in faith, active in scholarship, and engaged in community. Students from all faith traditions who wish to be a part of the caring and inclusive Catholic school environment at Notre Dame are welcome to attend.

Can we visit campus before we apply?
Prospective students are encouraged to shadow a Notre Dame student ambassador before making the decision to attend our school. Family tours are also available during school hours. Shadow Days are from 7:30am-2:30pm. Please visit the Admissions tab for more information and to schedule a visit.
Are Freshman required to take a placement test?
Notre Dame administers the High School Placement Test (HSPT). The results of the exam are used to help place each student in the most appropriate classes for their freshman year. All testing materials will be supplied and no calculators are allowed.
How are Freshmen placed in Honors and AP classes?
Placement in honors and AP classes is determined by performance on the placement exam and some placement assessments given by individual Academic Departments, as well as previous course work and grades earned in middle school.
Notre Dame teachers hold office hours throughout the week to provide additional assistance to students. One-on-one tutoring is scheduled at a mutually convenient time for both the student and teacher. Students are encouraged to arrange this tutoring with specific teachers directly.
What are the school hours?
First bell rings at 7:25am and last bell rings at 2:30pm. During a “GREEN” scheduled week, the last bell rings at 12:20pm on Friday of that week. During “GOLD” scheduled week, the last bell rings at 12:20pm on Wednesday of that week.
Are students required to wear uniforms?
Yes. Notre Dame has a dress and personal appearance code. All students are required to purchase uniforms from the designated apparel provider.
Is Notre Dame a closed campus?
Yes. Once students arrive on campus, they may not leave the campus without parental permission and only for scheduled appointments. Student may not leave for lunch or social reasons. An appropriate permission form from the attendance office is required.
What steps are taken for campus safety?
School personnel and a campus supervisor are on duty during campus hours. During school hours all gates and classrooms are closed and locked. All visitors must be admitted through secure gates by the front office and are required to sign in and obtain a visitors badge. The campus is monitored by recorded video feed in public areas.
How can parents volunteer?
Parents are an integral part of all of our programs and are encouraged to support the programs in which their students are involved. Notre Dame has an active Parents Guild program that is of tremendous value and importance to the school community. Parent volunteer hours are not mandatory and are not recorded.
Does Notre Dame have a Parent Portal to monitor student progress?
As a parent, you will have access to your student’s course work through RenWeb’s Parent Connect. Parents are given a username and password within the admissions process before their student starts school at Notre Dame High School. Do you provide Academic Counseling?
Yes. We have an unparalleled student to counselor ratio of 1 to 250 and each student has the same counselor for all four years of attendance, allowing for the academic counselor to build rapport with their students and to know the specific educational goals for each individual.
How does Notre Dame prepare students for the college application process?
The Student Services Department provides full-service college admissions support to all students. Students are encouraged to visit their counselors often, both individually and with parents to create a realistic and comprehensive college list. Students are given a specific timeline and sequence to prepare for college admissions. All students graduate with the necessary A-G courses required for admission to the UC and Cal State systems.
What percentage of Notre Dame students attend college?
99% of students in Notre Dame’s class of 2017 continued their education at college. Notre Dame is a college preparatory high school. When students graduate from our school they have not only exceeded the state guidelines for high school graduates, they have also met Cal State and UC requirements.
What colleges do Notre Dame graduates attend?
Notre Dame Seniors are accepted into the top colleges and universities in the country. Most recently, 96% were accepted into a 4-year College or University, 3% were accepted into a 2-year, and 1% joined a branch of military service. Notre Dame students attend colleges including; UCLA, University of Notre Dame, Loyola Marymount University, USC, George Washington, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, and UC Riverside, to name a few.
